Why Should I do an Intensive Driving Course?
Why Should I do an Intensive Driving Course?
Intensive driving courses are suitable for pretty much everyone – they are suitable for all levels of learner drivers, they get you passed as quickly as possible, and it makes it easier to retain information due to all lessons being completed over a short period of time. This is how we pride ourselves in having such a high pass rate of 83%. Which is much higher than the national average. The practical test will be completed in the very final hour of the driving course and if the theory test is required. We can also book this for you, we would book this at the very start of the course, usually before any lessons go ahead.
How long does an intensive driving course take?
Normally, intensive courses are completed with 3-6 hours per day, over 1-2 weeks. This means that most people have to book time off work. But we recommend waiting to book time off until you have spoken to your instructor to discuss a lesson schedule. When making your booking online, you will select how long you’d like to do your lessons over – this allows us to make sure the instructor has suitable availability for your course, and for your test.
Do I have to travel anywhere for my course?
We get a lot of questions about this! Previously, ‘residential’ courses were popular. This was where you would travel to a ‘classroom’ situation to complete an intensive course. You would have to pay hotel fees, normally for a week or more. On top of the intensive course which obviously made it a very expensive ordeal. Nowadays, we come to you! All of our instructors offer home/workplace pickup, and the test(s) will be booked at a local test centre. So everything is done in your local area – you don’t have to travel anywhere!

Why shouldn’t I do an Intensive Driving Course?
– Time might be an issue – if you don’t have availability to take 1-2 weeks out of your schedule for an intensive driving course. Then semi intensive might work best for you.
– Can involve long days, which can be tiring. Making sure you have plenty of rest outside of your driving lessons is important, and will allow you to retain information.
If you don’t think an intensive course is right for you, we also offer semi intensive courses. These courses are done over 3-8 weeks, with 3-6 hours of lessons per week. This is much easier to manage around your personal schedule. Read more about semi intensive courses HERE.
